Team Scores:
What an amazing start to the 2002 season! We came to this meet with a very young team who was missing some key varsity performers. We left the meet with a team championship and 2 meet records!! It is difficult to describe just how great this performance was, but we were able to improve our time and place in EVERY event but one with 9 of 18 people participating in their first varsity event. Although everyone improved, there were a few performances that stood out: Emily Triplett's 9.24 hurdles, Maggie Lyendeckers 2:30 800 in her first varsity race, Meggan Reed's 2:27 800 while running negative splits, Katie Krei running 63 and placing 2nd in the 400, Monica Mims' two sub 63 second 400's, Camille Jordan's 27.9 200 split, and Rachel Manuel's 5:47 1600m for a 3rd place finish.
Keep the focus as we look towards our last month of training before outdoor season. Remember, no one will remember that we won this meet when May rolls around. Keep working hard and remember what it took to get us to this point. Tremendous job, Field Events will go tonight!!
