A tremendous meet! Your training and hard work have paid off tonight and will pay off in an even more impressive fashion next weekend. Regardless of your place in the meet, your effort was better than ever. It is this effort that will make you successful in athletics and in life. On the day we had 8 additions or improvements to the top 10 list along with qualifying 23 events for the state meet (our 3^rd most ever) and double qualifying in 7 of the individual events. The sprints and 400’s really stood out in the track section of the meet. The 4x1 and 4x2 have the fastest state qualifying time and the sprint medley is currently 3^rd. 400’s were superb with two people under 60 seconds in an open for the first time in City High history. Katie Krei had the best 400m night in the past decade with three 400’s under 60 seconds. In the field, Anciaux and Wagner both threw PR’s in the discus and Wiegert tied a PR in the high jump. Two people qualified for state for the 3^rd time in individual events (Corrie Wagner-shot and Laura Krumm- 400 hurdles). The top 10 additions for the meet: 4x100- #5, 4x200- #9, shuttle- #10, 400 hurdles (Sabers)- #8, 400 (Mims- #7, Krei- #5), HJ- Weigert #2 (tie), Discus- (Anciaux- #3)
